Timothée Chalamet’s Awkward Oscars Interview with Julianne Hough Goes Viral

Julianne Hough was roasted for her “awkward’ interview with Timothée Chalatmet at the 2025 Oscars Sunday night.

The “Dancing With the Star” co-host shared a video to her TikTok of the cringe-worthy exchange in which she chatted with the “Dune: Part Two” actor on the red carpet.

“Alright, we’ve got a little mic right here, we’ve got Timothée Chalamet. Do you have any, like, dance moves that you go to? Like a go-to [move]?” she asked the Oscar nominee.

Chalamet, 29, paused before asking her, “Umm, do you?”

The professional dancer, 36, responded by telling the actor, “I do,” before showing off “a little body roll action” in front of the cameras.

Chalamet, seemingly unimpressed, asked Hough where she learned her signature move, prompting her to explain that she was doing the dance “coming out of the womb.”

“You did that as a baby?” he asked, joking, “That didn’t mess up your spine the rest of your life? You didn’t have to do spinal adjustments?”

Hough laughed and then told the Hollywood hunk that she does, indeed, do spinal adjustments now.

“OK, thanks,” Chalamet, clearly looking uncomfortable, said.

Hough nervously giggled before ending the conversation by thanking Chalamet for his time.

“Hey, thanks for talking to me with a little mic. Alright, have a good one,” he said politely before bolting away.

It appears Hough asked several A-listers, including Ariana Grande, to show off their dance moves on the red carpet — not just Chalamet. However, that didn’t stop netizens from flocking to the comments section to razz the “Grease Live!” star over the embarrassing conversation.

“That was awkward,” one person bluntly commented on the post.

“Why do I feel like he just bullied you?” a second person asked.

“I don’t think he was rude, I think it was a weird question and also even more awkward if you don’t want to dance for the camera lol,” a third fan weighed in.

“Stupid dumb interviewer, she is just being loud and weird, he’s at the Oscars for Christ’s sake and your [sic] asking stupid unintelligent questions completely unrelated and being loud with a fake laugh,” another troll commented.

“I don’t think he was being rude I think it was just an unintentionally awkward interaction,” a netizen offered.

“He’s more strict around women now that he’s started dating Kylie [Jenner] cuz i noticed in his past interviews when I liked him in 2020 he was silly when getting interviewed. idk maybe it’s just me,” another suggested.

Timothée was nominated for the best actor award for his role in “A Complete Unknown,” though he lost to fellow nominee Adrien Brody.

Despite his loss, Timothée celebrated his nomination with the Kylie Cosmetics founder, 27, at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.

The “Wonka” star changed into a spotted black Tom Ford jacket while Jenner swapped out her sparkly Miu Miu gown for a lace dress from Ashi Studio’s spring 2025 couture collection.
