Tony Marinaro Slams Analysts for Proposing Lane Hutson Trade Ideas

There was an interesting discussion earlier today about a potential trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres.

Tony Marinaro Slams Analysts for Proposing Lane Hutson Trade Ideas

The discussion, aired on BPM Sports, involved Tony Marinaro and Simon Boisvert, focusing on Rasmus Dahlin and Lane Hutson.

To demonstrate how much he values what the young Hutson brings to the Canadiens, Marinaro said the following:

"Do you want me to go all in? Do you really want me to go all in here?

I wouldn't trade Lane Hutson for Rasmus Dahlin.

Did you hear what I just said?

I wouldn't trade Hutson for Dahlin."

Tony Marinaro

And that sparked an interesting debate.

This followed a trade proposal made a few weeks ago on BPM Sports, where analyst Martin Lemay suggested a controversial deal, proposing to send Hutson and Caufield to Buffalo for Dahlin.

A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres involving Lane Hutson and Rasmus Dahlin? No thanks, says Tony Marinaro!

It's an intriguing discussion, and I have to admit that I currently have no argument to contradict Tony on this one.

Lane Hutson is phenomenal.

Hutson, 20 years old, 5 foot 9, and 162 pounds, was the 62nd overall pick in 2022 and has 35 points in 43 games this season (37 in 45 career games).

Dahlin, 24 years old, 6 foot 3 and 204 pounds, was the 1st overall pick in 2018 and has 31 points in 35 games this season (323 in 471 career games).

In your opinion, which of the two has greater value?
