After a tear-filled goodbye to Chicago P.D., Tracy Spiridakos is finally opening up about what it meant to walk away from Hailey Upton — and why this may not be the last we see of her.

In an exclusive interview, Spiridakos got candid about filming her final scenes, revealing how deeply personal the character has become after nearly a decade on screen. “It was incredibly emotional,” she admitted. “I’ve grown so much with Hailey. Saying goodbye was hard… but necessary.”

Fans watched Upton endure heartbreak, trauma, and relentless danger over the years. Her exit storyline offered closure — but not finality. And Spiridakos is leaving the door wide open for a possible return.

“I never say never,” she said. “If the right story comes along, and Hailey has more to say — I’m in.”

Showrunner Gwen Sigan echoed the sentiment, calling Upton “a pillar of the Intelligence Unit” and hinting that “her impact will continue to ripple through future episodes.”

For now, Spiridakos is focusing on new projects, but her message to fans was clear: “Thank you for loving Hailey. You haven’t seen the last of her.”
