Opening up.
Trista and Ryan Sutter found love and got engaged on the very first season of “The Bachelorette.”
Since then, the Bachelor Nation couple has gotten married and had two children: Max and Blakesley.
Recently, Trista took to Instagram and got candid about some struggles she’s been facing in motherhood.
In a new post, she opened up saying, “Even after almost 18 years, I still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing as a mom. Some days, I could earn a gold medal…if medals were awarded for that sort of thing. Most days, though, I’d probably earn the participation award.”
The former Bachelorette continued, saying, “I try to be the mom that’s put together and nurturing, friendly and involved, thoughtful and a good role model. The mom that brings in bake sale goodies and sacrifices sleep for a late night trip to the grocery store for poster board. And sometimes I am. But most times, I struggle. And you know what…that’s ok.”
Trista then shared the important lesson she’s learned over the years from being a mom.
She expressed, “It’s my first time living this life and tackling the immense responsibility of helping my not-so-tiny babies thrive and soar and learn the lessons that I feel are important to learn. So, to all the moms out there who have found their greatest joy in the magical moments of motherhood, but can relate to the struggle…know you’re not alone.”
The Bachelor Nation star ended her post with a sweet note to Max and Blakesley and shared how rewarding motherhood has been.
“Life is hard. Motherhood is hard. It’s the best thing to ever happen to me and I will always be beyond grateful and proud of Max and Blakesley (and Kota!),” she said. “If I left this earth tomorrow, though, that struggle would be my greatest achievement and I would happily, and proudly, accept my participation award. I love you Blakes and Maxwell. Always. 🫶🏼”
We love the Sutter family and always appreciate hearing from Trista. We are sending our love to all the moms out there. You all are amazing!
