Twitter reacts to Commanders releasing kicker Brandon McManus

Washington Commanders kicker Brandon McManus was accused of sexually assaulting two women on an international flight last year in a lawsuit filed on May 24. On Sunday evening, the Commanders released McManus.

The Commanders initially released the following statement regarding McManus:

“Earlier today, we were made aware of the civil lawsuit filed on May 24 against Brandon McManus,” the statement read. “We take allegations of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter. We have been in communication with the League Office and Brandon’s representation, and will reserve further comment at this time.”

With McManus released, the Commanders need a kicker.

After McManus’ release, we surveyed X — formerly Twitter — for reactions to the news.
