Two Flyers Plаyers To Pаrtісіраte In NHLPA Rookіe Sһowсаse

Philadelphia Flyers goalie Ivan Fedotov and forward Matvei Michkov have been announced as participants in the NHLPA Rookie Showcase, taking place on Sept. 4 in Arlington, Virginia.

Philadelphia Flyers goaltender Ivan Fedotov (82) during pregame warmups against the New York Islanders at Wells Fargo Center.

Fedotov, 28, made his NHL debut on April 1 of this year against the New York Islanders following a surprise arrival in the U.S. after leaving CSKA Moscow in the KHL.

Michkov, 19, officially arrived in Philadelphia in July and is expected to make his NHL debut this upcoming season.

Fedotov, who famously stands at a towering 6'7", is slated to back up starting goalie Sam Ersson this season. At the same time, Michkov is being hyped up as one of the most talented prospects making their debuts in the 2024-25 campaign—so much so that many fans have confidently predicted that he'll take home the Calder Memorial Trophy this season (which would make him the first Flyers player to receive the award).

The pair will be skating alongside other notable rookie names, including the San Jose Sharks' Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, the Anaheim Ducks' (and former Flyers prospect), Cutter Gauthier, and the New York Rangers' Matt Rempe.

The Flyers will begin their preseason training camps on September 18, where both Fedotov and Michkov are expected to take part.
