Two Guests at General Hospital’s Nurses Ball Were Celebrating Their Real-Life Wedding Anniversary — and We Had No Idea!

Well, between Gio learning the truth about his parents (and telling the whole of Port Charles in a spectacularly painful way) and Michael’s last minute return, this year’s Nurses Ball on General Hospital had plenty of surprises! But that’s to be expected when it comes to the hospital’s gala fundraising event.

What we weren’t expecting was a real-life surprise that coincided with the Nurses Ball! (And no, we aren’t talking about Michael’s recast news!) It turns out that one of General Hospital‘s real life couples got to celebrate their wedding anniversary all gussied up for the ball onset. The show’s official X/Twitter account shared the news and some downright adorable pictures of the happy couple!

“Fun fact” the show tweeted. “ADA Turner and the nefarious Jenz Sidwell go way back (before their lives in Port Charles). Actors Carlo Rota and Nazneen Contractor celebrated their wedding anniversary while we filmed this year’s Nurses Ball. The more you know!”

We knew, of course, that the actors were a happy real-life couple back even in the early days of Contractor’s run. In fact, she even spoke with Maurice Benard (Sonny) for his State of Mind vlog about some potentially thorny issues when two actors are married to each other. We say potentially, between it sounds like Contractor and Rota navigate the married actor life with an ease that makes us all envious!

So while we apologize for being a bit late — the Nurses Ball was filmed a few weeks back — we’d like to wish the happiest of anniversaries to Rota and Contractor! Hopefully all of them are as memorable as this year’s surely was!
