Two more Saints starters are injured. Here's what Darren Rizzi said about them after the game.

Alvin Kamara left the New Orleans Saints' 20-19 loss to the Washington Commanders in the second half with a groin injury and did not return.

He finished with 12 rushing yards on five carries, and four catches for 58 yards and a touchdown. Kendre Miller flashed some big play ability in Kamara's absence, rushing for 47 yards on eight carries in the fourth quarter alone.

Interim head coach Darren Rizzi said he believed that Kamara's injury occurred on his 21-yard touchdown catch in the third quarter.

“I think that’s where he initially kind of felt something," Rizzi said. "That’s what it sounds like from our medical staff. I’ll have more information. He’s going to get some imaging stuff, so I’ll have more on that later.”

Defensive back Kool-Aid McKinstry also left the contest in the second half with a stinger, forcing the Saints to use Shemar Jean-Charles in his place. But Rizzi said after the game that, if the Saints would have sent the defense back on the field for overtime, McKinstry would have been available.
