Longtime “Dancing With the Stars” pros Val Chmerkovskiy and Jenna Johnson shared an update on their home life with their young son, Rome.

People magazine caught up with the dancing duo, who shared that 2-year-old Rome “loves to dance.”

“He is just talking so much, which is wild how quickly it just shifts when they start picking up on so many words. His big milestone that I think we’re both really proud of, he can count to 10, which is crazy,” Johnson told the outlet.

“What’s fun is he loves watching us dance. If we ever have a video of us dancing, he loves watching it over and over and over again. So we’ll see what he wants to do,” she continued.

The Chmerkovskiys recently celebrated Rome’s second birthday with a car racing themed party.

Val Chmerkovskiy & Jenna Johnson Enrolled Rome in Gymnastics

Not only does Rome love to dance, but he’s starting to get into gymnastics. On February 13, Johnson shared that she enrolled her toddler in a gymnastics class.

“First gymnastics class. @stephen_nedoroscik I think he’s definitely ready for the pommel horse,” she captioned an Instagram post. In the attached video, Johnson included some clips from Rome’s type at the gym.

Many people loved seeing the video and commented such.

“The look on his little face when he went down that little roller coaster… Oh my gosh he’s so precious,” one person wrote.

“He seems so sure of himself but then he still looks to you and Val for instruction. What a sweet boy,” someone else added.

“Such a cutie! Hope gymnastics brings him lots of happiness,” a third comment read.

Chmerkovskiy also popped up in the comments section.

“The best thing that’s ever happened to me in life is meeting you and bringing this boy into this world. I love you so much,” he said.

As Rome gets older, his parents are able to do more things with him — and share new experiences as a family.

For example, in November 2024, Johnson and Chmerkovskiy took Rome to Disneyland for the first time.

“If you saw two giddy parents running around Disneyland with their son for his first time at the Happiest Place On Earth, that was definitely us,” Johnson captioned an Instagram post on November 6, 2024.
