Kristen Doute knows what she wants!

The former “Vanderpump Rules” alum dished on her pregnancy and how she’s decorating her baby’s room, according to an exclusive with PEOPLE.

Designer John McClain was behind Doutes’ vision and the results are gorgeous.

“I love working with John because he looks at things with a bird’s eye view and can visualize the best way to make the most of the space,” Doute told the outlet. “It was important to me to ensure that nothing was too ‘precious’ — that it was durable, practical and that everything could be wiped down and cleaned.”

“Every last detail was important,” she told PEOPLE. “The furniture, the aesthetic, the longevity of the pieces in the room. I wanted the nursery to have a completely different feel than the rest of the house.”

Doute continued, “I wanted warm colors, and even though I’m having a girl, I wanted to stay away from the pink Barbie feel. I love boho aesthetic, ethereal, and I had to incorporate plants. I love having real plants all over the house as it’s great for the quality of the air in the home.”

She is expecting her first child with fiancé Luke Broderick.

Doute Experienced Prior Heartbreak

The reality TV star experienced a miscarriage on her journey to motherhood.

“[A]s a new mom-to-be, after experiencing a loss there is a lot of fear that comes with the good news. every week, and every ultrasound, lifted that weight little by little. when i saw the baby move for the first time, i finally felt like i was allowed to be excited,” she wrote. “i am forever grateful.”
