Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon has signed two more players in free agency today, bolstering his team's depth as they look for their second Stanley Cup championship.
The Golden Knights made the largest move of the offseason this year when they acquired Mitch Marner in a sign-and-trade with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Adding Marner to their lineup arguably makes the Knights the most fearsome team in the Western Conference.
After all, the Knights are the last team that's not the Florida Panthers to win a Stanley Cup, and they did that without Marner, who is a top-ten if not a top-five winger in the NHL.
The @GoldenKnights are adding a real special player in Mitch Marner! 🤩

That being said, championships are won with depth, not just star power.
Just look at the Florida Panthers, who won the Stanley Cup last month thanks to the efforts of the entire roster.
The team's third line was arguably their most important as they got elite production from Anton Lundell, Brad Marchand, and Eetu Luostarinen.
Vegas appears to be replicating that model to the best of their abilities only on their blueline instead of at forward.
Today they signed defenseman Kaeden Korczak to a four-year contract extension, carrying a cap hit of 3.25 million dollars.

Korczak appeared in 40 games for the Knights last season, registering ten assists.
The Knights also announced a deal for defenseman Jeremy Davies to a two-year deal.
Davies last played in the NHL during the 2022-23 season where he got into one game with the Buffalo Sabres.
He figures to be a regular for the Henderson Silver Knights in the AHL, but could be a call up in case of injuries.
VGK have also signed Jeremy Davies to a two year deal.

He has played one NHL game since 2022. Smaller left-handed defenseman likely to play for the Silver Knights.
Combined, Davies and Korczak can't replace Alex Pietrangelo, but they will give the Knights a better chance of winning their second Stanley Cup in franchise history.
