Altogether, the NHL’s Western Conference teams naturally travel more than their Eastern Conference counterparts. This season, nine out of the top ten teams destined to pile up the most mileage are from the West. The Golden Knights are 8th on the list with 14 road trips, traveling roughly 47,000 miles in the skies. Clearly, the time in the air hasn’t impacted Vegas as they technically hold the best road points percentage in NHL history.
According to data accumulated using ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot, Bill Speros found, the Pacific Division, in general, is in the air the most. Seven Pacific teams will travel over 44,000 miles.

- San Jose Sharks: 15 Road Trips, 40 Time Zones, 50,0348.2 Miles
- Vancouver Canucks: 14 Road Trips, 43 Time Zones, 48,378 Miles
- Vegas Golden Knights: 14 Road Trips, 52 Time Zones, 46,916.6 Miles
- Seattle Kraken: 13 Road Trips, 41 Time Zones, 44,589.9 Miles
- Calgary Flames: 14 Road Trips, 45 Time Zones, 44,062.9 Miles

Per usual, the Golden Knights will will he hopping time zones quite often for a combined 52 time zones crossed, the most in the league. Thankfully, trips to Anaheim, LA, San Jose, and Utah are so close that the club could be flown in a puddle jumper. Also, Vegas will be done with all East Coast road trips after a long, five-game trek in early March. After that, VGK will only host Eastern Conference clubs at T-Mobile Arena.
Coincidentally, that February 25th to March 4th away journey will leave the Golden Knights with only eight road games remaining on their schedule with more than a month to play. Of the final 20 contests of 2025-26, Vegas will head to Dallas for a one-game trip, travel to Nashville, Dallas, and Winnipeg for a three-game set, and begin April with a four-game conference excursion in Edmonton, Vancouver, Seattle, and Colorado. That trip could impact the division and conference, or allow Vegas some time to rest their stars and veterans.
Last month, we thoroughly examined VGK’s upcoming schedule and found pockets of difficulty and many that are winnable for the 31st franchise. However, if Vegas can perform at their league-leading .588 points percentage on the road, long-distance traveling won’t hurt their overall record. If the Golden Knights continue that success in 2025-26, the season should easily result in their 8th appearance in the NHL playoffs.
