The Minnesota Vikings are in the process of hosting top 30 visits at TCO Performance Center. They use these visits in a variety of ways, having selected five players who have made the visit to TCO Performance center, five others who had teammates visit, and eight undrafted free agents signed after having a visit.
That trend is likely to continue in some way, shape, or fashion, as general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah casts a wide net to find the future of the Vikings.
Vikings host Gophers QB Max Brosmer on a top 30 visit
The Vikings aren't afraid to host players at any position, including quarterback. Sources tell myself and Destin Adams at A to Z Sports that the Vikings hosted Minnesota Golden Gophers quarterback Max Brosmer on a top 30 visit recently.
Brosmer transferred to Minnesota ahead of the 2024 season after spending the beginning of his college career at New Hampshire, where he lit up the FCS. Armed with a strong arm who can attack every inch of grass, Brosmer made a solid transition to the FBS level, leading the Gophers to a win in the Duke's Mayo Bowl.
Arm talent is a big thing for Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell when it comes to playing the position. It's not everything, as you need to be able to harness it with processing and decision-making, but Brosmer can do a little bit of everything. His specialty was throwing with anticipation, something that O'Connell loves to utilize when attacking down the field.
The question remains as to why the Vikings would bring in a quarterback for a top 30 visit with J.J. McCarthy? Simple: you should always develop a quarterback. Plus, being that Brosmer attended the University of Minnesota means that he doesn't count toward the total of 30.
Having Brosmer on the roster to develop would be a smart move.
