Vikings make roster move on Monday that once again highlights Kwesi Adofo-Mensah's NFL Draft history

The Minnesota Vikings roster is in a good place after free agency. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah  spent the first two waves of free agency beefing up both sides of the trenches. Right guard Will Fries, center Ryan Kelly, defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, and defensive tackle Javon Hargrave were the key pieces to the Vikings free agency haul.

The one area that was addressed but not given enough resources as of yet was the cornerback position. They did re-sign Byron Murphy and added cornerback Isaiah Rodgers, but they didn't add enough depth behind them.

Minnesota Vikings release CB Nahshon Wright

The depth at the position took another hit on Monday, as the Minnesota Vikings release cornerback Nahshon Wright from the 90-man roster.

Wright was a third-round pick of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2021 NFL Draft who was selected over 200 spots higher than his place on the consensus board. He wasn't a great athlete coming out of Oregon State, but his height and length made him ideal to play in Dan Quinn's cover-3 defense.

The presence of Wright was the last remaining piece to the selection of cornerback Andrew Booth Jr., who was Adofo-Mensah's second-ever draft pick at 42nd overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. The Vikings traded Booth for Wright in August with the hope both teams could salvage a draft pick.

Ultimately, it didn't end up working for either team and this move is a reminder of that 2022 NFL Draft class.
