Should the New York Rangers go after forward Vladimir Tarasenko?

The majority of the big-name free agents have already been signed, but Tarasenko is one player who remains on the market and is a good fit for the Blueshirts.

With the loss of Alex Wennberg, Barclay Goodrow and most likely Jack Roslovic, the Rangers could use some more forward depth.

Chris Drury added Reilly Smith and Sam Carrick yesterday in order to fill some holes offensively, but it never hurts to add more forwards.

Tarasenko already spent some time with the Rangers during the 2022-23 season, so New York is a place he is familiar with.

After being traded from the Ottawa Senators to the Florida Panthers at the trade deadline this past season, Tarasenko proved to be a valuable piece for Florida en route to their first Stanley Cup.

In 76 games last season, the 32-year-old recorded 23 goals, 32 assists and 55 points.

Tarasenko would help balance out the Rangers forward group while potentially making them one of if not the deepest offensive team in the NHL.

There are most likely multiple teams interested in Tarasenko’s services, but New York is a destination that makes sense for him.
