Robert Kirkman built a comic book empire out of The Walking Dead, his meditation on how people move forward to survive amid tragedy and destruction. Now, he will help pick up the pieces after the Los Angeles wildfires with an appearance at MultiCon, a convention benefiting the recovery effort.
Kirkman is the latest notable guest to comment on the convention, held on Feb. 22 at The Preserve LA. Other guests announced Friday include Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), Bitsie Tulloch (Superman & Lois), Michael Cudlitz (Superman & Lois, The Walking Dead), Khary Payton (The Walking Dead), Scott M. Gimple (The Walking Dead showrunner) and Shar Jackson (Moesha).
They join a roster of previously announced guests, including Kevin Smith, David Dastmalchian, Seth Green and Rob Liefeld. Proceeds benefit United Way of Greater Los Angeles, with tickets starting at $35. VIP tickets go for $100 and can be purchased here.
Fans can donate additional money for autograph signings and selfies with talent.
In addition to panels, there will be a number of other attractions, including a MultiCon After Dark performance from Don’t Tell Comedy, as well as music from Sofar Sounds. Fork n’ Film, which is a culinary movie experience, will also participate at MultiCon, while Golden Apple Comics will auction off pieces, including a piece autographed by both Stan Lee and Liefeld.
Off Brand Games will bring their brawl game Rivals of Aether II, while Fantasy Flight Games and Star Wars: Unlimited will be sponsoring an activation for the game.
More guests will be announced next week.
