Watch: Colts QB Anthony Richardson throws 60-yard TD

Perhaps Indianapolis Colts second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson will break out in 2024.

On Sunday, in the first quarter against the Houston Texans, Richardson threw a 60-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Alec Pierce, helping the Colts grab a 7-0 lead.

The play highlights Richardson's incredible arm strength. According to NFL Next Gen Stats, the pass traveled 65.3 yards in the air, the third-longest completion in the Next Gen Stats era.

Richardson — the fourth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft — started in four games during his rookie season before suffering a season-ending right shoulder injury. However, he flashed franchise QB potential. The 22-year-old posted a 2-2 record and logged seven total touchdowns (three passing and four rushing).

He also has intriguing physical tools. Listed at 6-foot-5, 244 pounds, the former Florida Gator ran a 4.43 40-yard dash and posted a vertical jump record for QBs (40.5 inches) at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine.

The Colts need Richardson to keep showing why he could become the guy. He's the ninth QB to start for Indianapolis since Andrew Luck retired in 2019.
