Does he regret saying yes?
Taylor popped the question on The Bold and the Beautiful. She did it in an unconventional way, and not because she proposed. She asked the question while they were out to lunch at Il Giardino. It wasn’t even a special occasion. Ridge eventually said yes, and we still have his reaction on our minds.
Securing Her Spot
Taylor (Rebecca Budig) has Ridge (Thorsten Kaye), and she’s been living with him at the Forrester Mansion, but that’s still not enough. She wants to feel secure in their relationship with him, especially since he recently had sparks with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) at the fashion show. The world can’t stop buzzing about the showstopper and their apparent chemistry. Taylor asked him to be her husband.
She wanted to see a future between them. Ridge pointed out that he made a commitment to her, even if it’s not on paper. They’re already in love and they’re together. He assumed that would be enough. In fact, it took Ridge a long time to respond to Taylor’s question. He kept beating around the bush.
Ridge didn’t jump at Taylor’s question. She had to work hard to sell herself. She reminded him of everything they share, including their beautiful family. Ridge finally took it upon himself to grab the engagement ring and slide it onto her finger. He finally accepted Taylor’s proposal. That’s all great and wonderful, but why did it take him so long to say yes?
Half-Committed?
Ridge remained committed to Taylor up to this point. But for how long? He sure dodged around Taylor’s question for a long time. His eyes narrowed the first time Taylor asked him to marry her. Ridge wanted to know why she suddenly had marriage on the brain. His recent actions could be the reason why. Ridge has been steaming ever since Nick (Jack Wagner) returned to town. He doesn’t like seeing him around his former flame, Brooke.
Ridge still has Brooke on his mind. But he refuses to admit that. Instead, he’s claiming that he doesn’t trust his half-brother. He might regret saying yes to Taylor. She could be headed back halfway across the world with heartbreak. (Will Ridge put heart at risk on B&B?) He could end up with cold feet and realize that he’s still in love with Broke. Well, it’s Brooke that he wants. For now.
