New York Rangers head coach Mike Sullivan had an incredible run with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Sullivan coached the Penguins for ten years and won two Stanley Cups in the process, cementing one of the greatest eras in Penguins history.

In Pittsburgh, Sullivan brought out the best in many star players, including Evgeni Malkin, Kris Letang, and Jake Guentzel.

The best of them all was Sidney Crosby, who seemed to have a strong relationship with Sullivan.

After the Penguins parted ways with Sullivan, Crosby had some nice words to say about his former coach.

“He did an amazing job over the last 10 years here with his preparation and commitment to winning,” Crosby said. “Personally, he pushed me to be better every day, and I learned a lot from him.

”We shared some great memories together, and I am grateful for his time here and everything he did for us.”

Sullivan wasn’t unemployed for very long. The Rangers and Sullivan quickly agreed on a five-year, $32.5 million contract.

The Penguins hired former Rangers assistant coach Dan Muse, as Crosby will have to adjust to life without Sullivan.
