What Happened on Young and the Restless Today? Cane Faces Scrutiny Over Damian

The Young and the Restless recap for Tuesday, July 15, featured shocking developments, as Phyllis stumbled upon Damian’s body in the maze, Cane desperately tried to explain his innocence, and Lily’s suspicions about her ex-husband’s motives grew. Meanwhile, Chance found himself caught up in a crime investigation. Here’s a breakdown of all the action.

Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) walked into the maze and stumbled upon Damian (Richard Burgi) doubled over in Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) arms. He had a dagger lodged in his back, and despite their attempts to check for a pulse, it was clear that he was dead.

Phyllis questioned if she should attempt CPR, but Cane told her it wouldn’t help. As he paced, Cane explained that he hadn’t stabbed Damian, and they had been drinking and talking when things took a sudden, violent turn.

Phyllis wondered if the drink had been poisoned, but Cane denied it, stating that he’d been drinking the same thing. They realized that the dagger had been thrown from a distance, and neither of them had seen who was responsible. Cane was adamant that Damian had likely not been the intended victim, but he was the only one with a clear motive for the attack.

Chance Investigates the Crime

Cane quickly left to find Chance (Conner Floyd), and on the train, Devon (Bryton James) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) were having a drink and discussing how they had been trying to treat their stay like a vacation, though the novelty was wearing off. Chance had been hiking a lot, and the group discussed the lack of progress on the case.

They speculated that Cane’s newfound wealth might have made him paranoid. Devon and Abby tried to focus on the positives, like their upcoming return to their loved ones, but Chance was still busy trying to figure out what had happened to Damian.

Phyllis and Cane rushed in, looking for Amanda (Mishael Morgan), and Cane asked to speak with Chance privately. This left Abby and Devon wondering what had gone wrong.

Lily Confronts Amanda

In the dining area, Lily (Christel Khalil) confronted Amanda, questioning whether Cane had put Damian through the ringer over their relationship. Amanda assured Lily that Damian could handle himself, but the two debated Cane’s motives.

Lily admitted that she still had concerns about Cane’s behavior and how he had been acting toward her. Amanda acknowledged that Cane was deeply in love with her and would go to great lengths to win her back.

However, Lily insisted that she had moved on. She had found someone special in Damian, and the idea of returning to Cane was out of the question.

Cane Brings Chance to the Crime Scene

Cane returned to the scene with Chance, showing him Damian’s body and pointing out that the dagger was missing. He recounted how they had been drinking and discussing Lily when they both started to feel woozy, and suddenly, Damian had been stabbed.

Cane was certain that the attack was meant for him, not Damian. Chance, still skeptical, questioned whether they had been poisoned or if the alcohol had simply made them dizzy. Cane insisted that no one had had access to the drink except them, and they both agreed that the dagger must have been removed by the killer.

They speculated that whoever had thrown it had returned to take it, but Chance needed more evidence. Cane revealed that the dagger was part of his personal collection, which raised more red flags.

Lily and Nick Find Out the Truth

Back in the maze, Phyllis ran into Nick (Joshua Morrow), who was looking for Sharon (Sharon Case). Phyllis, seemingly rattled, admitted that there were serious life-and-death issues at play.

Nick was concerned but didn’t fully understand what was going on. Lily arrived and asked if Phyllis had seen Damian. Phyllis stood speechless as Cane and Chance appeared, bringing Damian’s body on a stretcher.

Lily demanded to see who was under the sheet, and she gasped when she saw that it was Damian. The revelation of Damian’s death stunned everyone.
