Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) was introduced in the Chicago P.D. pilot episode, and since then, fans have watched her career journey and complex personal life. There are some TV characters, like Talia Bishop (Afton Williamson) from The Rookie season 1, who stay in fans' minds long after they're gone. Considering how wise and compelling Burgess is, it's no wonder that her sister is given a memorable storyline, too.
Every episode of Chicago P.D. is just as exciting as The Pitt, which is thankfully getting a season 2, and while the NBC drama is now on its 12th season, fans still remember Burgess's moving storyline involving her sister Nicole Silver. There's a lot to know about Burgess's sibling.
What Happened to Burgess's Sister On Chicago PD?
Burgess teams up with Erin Lindsay (Sophia Bush) and they go to a club to find the man who attacked Nicole. Burgess makes the terrifying decision to take a substance so the man will come close to attacking her, and then she hurts him.
While Burgess's sister Nicole is only on Chicago P.D. briefly, she makes an impression since her presence allows viewers to get to know Burgess better. Although Burgess is a tough officer who is shown solving crimes along with her team, family is important to her, and it's moving to see how much she cares about Nicole. There are many police dramas, but Chicago P.D. dives into its characters, which makes it a great show. While some guest stars or minor characters are added to TV shows without much context or background, viewers learn a bit about Nicole before her brutal episode. In Chicago P.D. season 2, episode 4, "Little Bit of Light," Burgess finds out that Nicole wants to get divorced.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Marina Squerciati went on maternity leave after Burgess's big episode with her sister Nicole, which is why Burgess leaves the show for a little while. The actress explained:
Who Plays Burgess' Sister On Chicago PD?
Jules Willcox played Nicole Silver on Chicago P.D. and has had several other TV and movie roles. She played the main character Jessica in the 2018 thriller movie Alone about a woman running away from a killer. She has had small roles on TV shows such as Teen Wolf, which also has a movie adaptation and the Netflix thrillers Bloodline and Dirty John.
While Willcox's Chicago P.D. character Nicole Silver is perhaps her most recognizable, she does an impressive job as the strong-willed main character in the survival horror movie Alone. She shared in an interview with Daily Dead that she also worked with Alone's director John Hyams on Chicago P.D. and called it John Hyams "a really challenging episode of television together where I felt that I was in such great hands."
