The New York Rangers made a big splash this offseason by bringing in Mike Sullivan to be their next head coach, signing him to a five-year, $32.5 million contract.
From management to players, members of the Rangers seem to be confident in the Sullivan hire.
Here’s what some of them have had to say about the new Blueshirts head coach:
Chris Drury: “I’m really excited about the opportunity to build a partnership with Chris. I’m really excited about what we could build here moving forward that we could all be proud of.”
“It’s already a great relationship, and I think it’s only going to get better every day.”
“The second Mike was available, we quickly and aggressively pursued him.”
Mika Zibanejad: “Yeah, I had a conversation with him,” Zibanejad said about if he’s been in contact with Sullivan. “Obviously, he’s a coach that’s been around for some time now, had some success in the league. It will be fun to talk with him even more.”
Will Cuylle: “I don’t know him personally or have never met him,” Cuylle said about Sullivan. “It’s good. I have lots of trust in the organization to hire a good option for us. I’m looking forward to meeting with him and working with him and hopefully have a good bounce back year in New York.”
Gabe Perreault: “More just an introduction, he called me a couple of days after he got the job. I’ve been talking to him a little bit, just trying to get to know him as a person.”
