What Time The Last Of Us Season 2 Episode 5 Releases On HBO & Max

HBO's adaptation of The Last of Us returns this week with another new episode, and viewers will want to see it as soon as it's released. Bella Ramsey leads The Last of Us season 2's cast now as Ellie, with her and Dina (Isabela Merced) reaching Seattle in episode 4. The episode also introduced more of W.L.F., the group Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and her companions are from. This included Isaac (Jeffrey Wright), whose introductory scenes perpetuated the show's reputation for shocking violence.

The Last of Us season 2, episode 4, continued to explore the brutal conflict between the Washington Liberation Front and the religious cult known as the Seraphites. The Infected also made a return, demonstrating that the upcoming violence in Seattle will have an uncontrollable additional party at play.

The Last Of Us Season 2 Episode 5 Releases Sunday, May 11th At 9 PM ET On HBO & Max

New Episodes Of Season 2 Are Released Every Sunday At 9 PM

I Knew Ellie & Dina Had Feelings For Each Other In The Last Of Us, But I Did Not Expect Their Relationship To Reach THAT Level So Soon

Just like the show's previous episodes, The Last of Us season 2, episode 5 will stick with the standard HBO primetime slot of 9 PM ET. The release date will be May 11th. This has been HBO's schedule for years, and it will remain the same for the remainder of The Last of Us season 2. The episode plays on the HBO channel and will be dropped on the Max streaming service simultaneously across the world, though viewers will have to convert 9 PM ET to their respective time zones.

Some other time zone examples include 6 PM Pacific Time (PT), 8 PM Central Time (CT), 7 PM Mountain Time (MT), and 2 AM Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) on Monday, May 12th. For others, use a converter and adjust based on your location.

What To Expect From The Last Of Us Season 2 Episode 5

Episode 5 Will Bring Audiences Deeper Into The Seattle Conflict With A New Element From The Games

The Last of Us season 2's video game changes continue to accumulate with every episode, making it harder to predict what's coming with each new episode. That said, we've seen the trailer and have a synopsis for episode 5, which suggests Ellie and Dina will be pushing further into the city, even after the big revelations in episode 4's ending. There are also more scenes depicting the various characters and factions native to Seattle, and the phrase "It's in the air" sets up a horrifying new effect of the Cordyceps Infection.

How Many Episodes The Last Of Us Season 2 Has Left

The Last of Us Season 2 Has A Total Of 7 Episodes, With 3 To Go

In keeping with the general streaming trend of the 2020s, HBO's season lengths have decreased, with The Last of Us included. The show's first season had nine episodes, but season 2 has been reduced to seven in total. With this being the fifth episode of the season, there will only be two more after it. That still leaves plenty of time for some notable events to progress, given that each episode should be around an hour long. Still, it likely won't make it through all the events of The Last of Us Part II, the game it adapts.

The decreased episode count may come as a disappointment to some viewers, but it's likely due to the resources expended on the major action sequences season 2 has already had. Not to mention, several new actors were added to the show's cast. There's still plenty of television left to enjoy in this season of The Last of Us.
