Could Nick’s ex have her own agenda?
Sharon sure had a lot of questions for Lily on the July 1 episode of The Young and the Restless, didn’t she? And the majority of them were about Cane.
We realize she’s part of the Aristotle Dumas drama, but she really just tagged along with Nick. She doesn’t have a horse in the race. Dumas/Cane isn’t targeting her company. (Hey, who is running Cassidy First Inc. while Sharon is stuck without cell service and Mariah is having a nervous breakdown?) So why was Sharon so curious? We think we know!
Business Landscape
Sharon (Sharon Case) inherited her company from Cameron (Linden Ashby). She never had any interest in competing with the two behemoths in town, Newman Enterprises and Jabot.
But now that there’s a new player on the scene, maybe Sharon thinks Cane (Billy Flynn) could be her partner in really becoming a power broker. Billy (Jason Thompson) has the same idea. But he and Cane had lots of — mostly bad — history. Sharon and Cane don’t. If he’s going to team up with anyone, why not a clean slate? And why shouldn’t Sharon be it?
Love Island
On the other hand, maybe Sharon’s interest is purely personal. Sure, she was Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) plus one to this French giveaway. But they’re just friends and co-parents at this point. No romance.
Sharon’s other ping-pong man, the one she keeps periodically returning to when she can’t think of anything better to do, is Adam (Mark Grossman). But he’s currently besotted with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). And as long as they have Connor (Judah Mackey) in common, that’s a tie no woman will break.
Finally, Sharon’s most recent husband, Rey (Jordi Vilasuso), is dead. So she’s footloose and fancy free! Cane could be just what Sharon needs. He could be fun. Or he could be something serious. Either way, he would be someone new. And Sharon desperately needs that!
