Britain's Got Talent has now launched its 18th season, which started on Saturday, February 22. The series saw the return of presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, alongside the judging panel consisting of Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli, and newcomer and guest judge KSI, who is a popular YouTuber and rapper.
With the auditions beginning in February, you may be wondering, 'how long will it be until the live shows are on?' The remaining auditions will be broadcast until Saturday, April 19.
This year marks a change in the series' formatting, as the live semi-finals will now be aired weekly, rather than all of the episodes spread across a week. They are due to launch on Saturday, April 26, and will then be on our screens weekly until the live final will be broadcast on Saturday, May 31.
Lily Wilson, the Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at ITV said: "We want to hit that family audience. Starting in February means we can build excitement over a longer period while making the live semi-finals a much bigger event."
One of the talented contestants who will automatically be in the semi finals is Maya Giotea who received Bruno Tonioli’s Golden Buzzer in the latest episode of Britain's Got Talent. The 14-year-old singer stunned the audience and the judges with her performance of Beyoncé's 'Listen', with Bruno hitting the button before the teenager had finished singing making it the fastest golden buzzer in BGT history.
She will be joined by Linda Mudzenda who overcame her nerves in the audition and was later rewarded with Alesha's buzzer, Vinnie McKee who scored Simon Cowell’s golden buzzer, 11-year-old guitarist Olly Pearson who received Amanda's , supermarket worker Stacey Leadbeatter who received KSI's and impressionist Will Burns for bagging Ant & Dec's. Additionally Simon gave out an extra golden buzzer to the charity group Electric Umbrella and fan favourites The Blackouts received a golden buzzer between all of the judges.
You can watch the show every Saturday on ITV1 and ITVX from 7pm. Past episodes of the new series are available for catch up on ITV X.
