The Chicago Blackhawks have the third overall pick in the 2025 draft, but also have the 25th overall pick. The very top of the draft is going to get everybody's attention, but some very intriguing players should be around for the Blackhawks' second pick in the first round as well.
Elite Prospects got the opinions of many of their scouts regarding the draft class and ranked the players based on different categories such as best shot, highest ceiling, best skater, etc. Some names to watch out for at the top of the draft that Chicago could select are Michael Misa, Anton Frondell, and James Hagens, but there could really be some curveballs thrown early. Based on the rankings, here's where some interesting players for the Blackhawks ranked.
Misa was ranked fourth in the best straight-line skater category with Hagens right behind him at fifth.
Frondell ranked second in best shot, while Misa was fifth in that category.
Hagens is seen as the player with the third-best hands in the 2025 draft.
Hagens ranks the same for the best vision with Misa right behind him at fourth.
When considering the best motor, Misa was ranked third in that category.
Fourth and fifth again for players with the highest ceiling in the draft are Misa and Hagens. This specific category will likely look much different down the road.
Misa has the highest floor in the 2025 draft, but Frondell was ranked fifth. This is a good look at players who scouts think are the safest bets to be really good players.
Misa once again takes number one, this time in the best offensive defenseman category. Hagens ranks third.
Ranked number one and two as the best transition forwards are Misa and Hagens.
Misa sits alone at the top in the best two-way forward category.
Finally, Frondell is seen as the fourth best power forward in the draft.
If Misa falls to third overall, the Blackhawks should be very happy. This is the player I think they even tried to move up to number two in the draft for. He is seen as one of the best in almost every category ranked by the scouts and would be an excellent top-6 elite forward for a long time.
