As the Philadelphia Flyers' rookie and training camps draw closer, all eyes will be on the new guys as they show their skills and, for some, potentially fight for a look on the NHL roster.
Matvei Michkov
I mean, obviously. Fans have been itching to see Michkov in action on the ice in a Flyers uniform, and they'll finally get a chance to once camp starts.
He's impressed immensely with his KHL play, and, by all accounts, seems to be settling into the organization nicely. With teammates and fans both anxiously waiting to see his skills, he will no doubt be the center of attention.
Oliver Bonk
London Knights teammates Oliver Bonk and Denver Barkey are both incredibly exciting, but Bonk has gotten himself on many fans' radars recently as the prospect that has the best chance of getting some NHL minutes this year.
While Flyers GM Danny Briere confirmed that Bonk will spend this upcoming season with the Knights in the OHL, his current contract allows him to participate in a certain number of NHL games, and with how dazzling he's been on defense (not to mention the powerplay too), it's not difficult to see why the Flyers will be keeping a close eye on him during preseason.
Jett Luchanko
While Luchanko won't be seeing NHL ice time this season, this camp is a prime opportunity to start showing any doubters that the Flyers weren't mistaken in choosing him at No. 13 during this year's draft.
Luchanko has already converted his fair share of skeptics during the Flyers' development camp and in the Guelph Storm's preseason training sessions, but participating in the Flyers' preseason will give him a chance to show that, while he'll still need a couple of years to fully develop his game, he's building a solid foundation for his future as a Flyer.
