Alexia Nepola and Teresa Giudice shared an intimate phone call on The Real Housewives of Miami Season 6 premiere in the aftermath of Todd’s decision.
Alexia Nepola leaned on her friends during a difficult time in her life on the Season 7 premiere of The Real Housewives of Miami — including a girlfriend across the country, Teresa Giudice.
She shared a tear-filled phone call with The Real Housewives of New Jersey cast member in the aftermath of her husband, Todd Nepola, filing for divorce after just two years of marriage.
“I’m not good,” Alexia confessed during the Jun 11 episode, adding how surprised she was by the turn of events. “Honestly, if you would have told me I’d have a better chance of winning the lotto than him doing this to me, I would have believed it.”
From there, she spilled more to Teresa about Todd ending their marriage. “He actually told me that I was going to be happy about this decision,” she revealed. “Like all this was a shock to me. I got home and all his things were gone.”
Teresa was sympathetic, responding: “I feel so bad. I’m sorry.”
“It was horrible, Teresa. You have no idea,” Alexia replied.
How did Teresa Giudice and Alexia Nepola become friends?
Teresa and Alexia are both OGs in the Bravoverse, and their friendship goes back years. Alexia shared that Teresa even influenced her to become a cast member on RHOM. “All of my friends [were] like, ‘Oh my god, if there’s ever one in Miami, you have to be part of the show… You are like her,’” Alexia recalled about watching the moment when Teresa flipped the table on RHONJ Season 1. “I’m like, ‘I am.’ Oh my god, I never saw myself that way.”
Alexia also said that she's appreciated the comparisons between her and Teresa.
“What a lot of people don’t know about Teresa is that she’s very nice. She’s very kind. She’s very sweet. She’s very loving. I think what attracts — why we’re both so attracted to each other — is that we’re strong women, that we’ve had so much adversity and controversy in our [lives], but we still stand back up on our feet,” Alexia added. “I think that’s why [it] was love at first sight when we met each other.”
How does Alexia Nepola know Teresa Giudice's husband, Louie Ruelas?
While Alexia and Teresa are close, Alexia also has a friendship with her husband, Luis “Louie” Ruelas. Alexia previously shared that she actually met Teresa’s husband before he was with the Jersey housewife.
"We saw each other in Barcelona, but I was with Todd. Before he was with Teresa," she said on a Nov. 2023 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
She further explained that Louie knew who she was because of RHOM. "We were just talking. We were staying in the same hotel, and he was just being nice and friendly," she added. "You know, I get a lot of attention because of my kids... he can relate to my journey, so he came to me to speak to me and say what a great mom I was."
More recently, Teresa and Alexia had a double date night in Miami in July 2022, which Teresa documented on her social media. "It’s the beautiful friends we meet along the way that help us appreciate the journey even more,” Teresa wrote in the caption.
Alexia shared the sentiment, writing on her own social media: “Life has many gifts…one of my favorites is the magic of a new friendship.”
Alexia and Todd also celebrated their friends while they were guests at Teresa’s August 2022 wedding to Louie.
