Why Did Hannah Berner Leave ‘Summer House’?

Hannah announced her decision to leave Summer House in 2021, stating that she was instead focusing on other career ventures. “This past year has been one of the most important in my life for self reflection, love and learning a lot of s–t. I’ve welcomed new career ventures, challenges and obstacles and opportunities for growth,” she said in a statement at the time. “As we climb out of the emotional trenches of 2020, I look forward to an exciting summer, but with mixed emotions I’m announcing I won’t be spending it living in the summer house.”“These last three summers have truly been a whirlwind and the show has, without a doubt, changed my life and I will forever be thankful for the platform it has provided me,” she continued. “Making people laugh is what brings me joy and I am so excited to announce that I will be spending this summer touring my standup and telling fart jokes at comedy clubs and theaters near you.”

Hannah Berner Claimed Kyle Cooke Got Her Fired From ‘Summer House’?

During her final season of Summer House, fans watched Hannah butt heads with costar Kyle Cooke and his wife, Amanda Batula.

In July 2024, Hannah claimed that Kyle was part of the reason she left the show while appearing on Dave Portnoy‘s “BFFs” podcast. She explained that she did an ad for Truly Hard Seltzer during season 5, which was around the same time Kyle launched his Loverboy beverage company.

“The truth is beef started because I did an ad for Truly [Hard] Seltzer, and I didn’t know that I, like, wasn’t allowed to,” she claimed at the time, adding that Bravo “didn’t fire” her but that “some people on the cast got annoyed at [her], and then it kind of snowballed.”

After Dave asked if she was referring to Kyle’s Loverboy brand, Hannah replied, “Yeah, that was a big storyline on the show. I didn’t know that I wasn’t allowed to drink other drinks.”Why Did Hannah Berner Leave 'Summer House'? Inside the Comedian's Exit Amid Season 9 Drama

“I think some of these shows become a lot of egos, and it’s like, ‘It’s my show. It’s my drink. You can’t do that.’ And there’s no rules, and it just becomes fighting over egos and screen time, and it’s not that fun after doing it for too many seasons,” she continued, alluding to Kyle.

After Hannah made the claims, Kyle insisted he had nothing to do with Hannah being kicked off of the show.

“I have nothing to do with casting,” Kyle told Page Six, adding that it was “upsetting” that “this is the narrative being shared because there’s no truth to it.”He added, “I’m flattered anyone thinks I could have that kind of pull. But clearly, I don’t have any control over what Bravo does.”

Hannah Berner Was Mentioned on Season 9 of ‘Summer House’

Hannah was dragged into season 9’s drama when Kyle slammed her close friend Paige DeSorbo after the comedian’s “BFFs” podcast appearance during the February 26, 2025, episode.

During the March 5, 2025, episode, Amanda insisted that everyone knew that Kyle “did not get Hannah fired” from the show.

In a confessional, Amanda explained that she, Hannah and Paige were “really good friends” in the past. However, Hannah’s “big falling out” with Kyle changed their dynamic, and she worried that bringing up the drama again will “affect [her] relationship with Paige.”

While Paige has continued starring on the reality show, she’s remained close with Hannah and they even cohost the “Giggly Squad” podcast.
