Why does this former Golden Knights goaltender keep getting disrespected?

One former Vegas Golden Knights netminder keeps being left off international rosters. Is there a greater conspiracy or are they simply overlooking him?

Some Vegas Golden Knights fans are questioning why Logan Thompson keeps being left off Team Canada's roster. His name didn't pop up for an invitation to the Olympic squad, prompting serious questions.

Believe it or not, the former Golden Knights netminder has a legitimate case. Last season, he posted a GAA of 2.49 and a save percentage of .910 with the Washington Capitals. Those numbers alone should garner serious consideration for a spot on the team, especially when compared to the three goaltenders.

On the surface, it appears he has a legitimate case. Hill wouldn't go anywhere since he has similar stats to the Capitals goalie. But looking at Montembeault and Binnington tells another story. Those two aren't exactly winning a Vezina Trophy anytime soon, making Thompson's case more legitimate.

But is that the case with some fans in Las Vegas? We already know that Capitals fans aren't too keen on hearing the news. However, there are some legitimate reasons why he was let off the team. Golden Knights fans know this all too well, specifically in the coaching department...

Why was Logan Thompson left off Team Canada's roster?

On X today, I noticed a surprising amount of Golden Knights fans talking about Thompson. They made interesting remarks, such as how uncoachable he was as a player.

That's one of the remarks that came up. There were also statements about his arrogance and grating personality, leading some people to believe that Bruce Cassidy and company weren't fond of having him on an international stage.

One can say that's why he was traded to the Capitals in the first place. But that wouldn't line up too well, considering Thompson himself wanted a starting goaltender opportunity. On top of that, he wanted to be closer to his fiancée, so the two sides made it work amicably.

Therefore, it's hard to say whether there's a deeper conspiracy or not. The goaltender has played well enough to earn a spot on the team. However, the intangibles can get in the way of a player earning his spot.

It's enough to make Jesse Ventura explode in a fit of thermite paint.
