Joseph Woll made 24 saves on 25 shots as the Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Seattle Kraken 4-1 at Scotiabank Arena on Thursday.

Following the victory, Mattamy Homes made a $5,000 donation on Woll’s behalf to the mental health charity CAMH. This season, Mattamy Homes and Woll have partnered to contribute $5,000 to CAMH for each of his wins.

"Yeah I think you know over the past few years I've found how important mental health is and you know how under-talked about it is sometimes and you know there's a fine line of talking about too much and not enough," Woll told TSN's Mark Masters after the game. "I'm just really happy that you know we were able to partner up and do something to get back and put a little more focus in there and it's you know it's a place that holds a special spot in my heart so it's pretty cool."

Since being drafted by the Maple Leafs in the third round (62nd overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Woll has frequently discussed how his mental health journey has helped him navigate the challenging moments of his career, from injury setbacks to performance struggles.

Before establishing himself in the NHL with the Leafs, Woll emphasized the importance of meditation for his mental well-being and periodically stepped away from social media, though he now returns occasionally.

This season has tested Woll’s resilience, as he has played only two games after missing the start of the season due to a groin injury.

The Maple Leafs face back-to-back games against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday and the Minnesota Wild on Sunday, with Woll expected to be in net for one of them as he looks to contribute toward another donation.

The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and a globally recognized research center. CAMH is fully affiliated with the University of Toronto and serves as a Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization Collaborating Centre.
