General Hospital's Kelly Thiebaud opened up about what playing Britt means to her and where she would like the character to go.

General Hospital fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Kelly Thiebaud as Britt. While the character did seem to have a fitting, even heroic end, she will have her hands full when she transitions back into life in Port Charles. Not only will she have the opportunity to hear Jason out and possibly rekindle that romance, she’ll also have to connect with Rocco, the child she bore from a stolen embryo. Thiebaud took some time recently to discuss her exciting return.

Playing Britt Means a Lot

Thiebaud shared her thoughts with TV Insider about returning to GH, explaining that she was happy to have a character she loved to portray and missed being Britt. “It feels in a way like I never left, which is strange,” she stated. “But I’m really excited to see what the writers have in store for me.” She loved the opportunity to once again work in the studio and being in the audience’s homes every day, which she considered an “honor.”

The actress really loved Britt’s story arc from beginning to end, and reminisced about some of her shenanigans, which included flashing Patrick Drake (ex-Jason Thompson) while wearing nothing but a trench coat. And having things like beer and oatmeal dumped on her head. She further explained how the experience of playing Britt changed her. “Personally and professionally, the growth that I experienced in the nine years on and off that I’ve been on the show has just been really wonderful, ” she stated.

Looking Ahead

Thiebaud was happy that the fans really responded well to Britt’s pairing with Jason (Steve Burton), hoping that it would continue. “Obviously, I want Britt and Jason to get back together,” she bluntly admitted. But what really grabbed her was that she “Finally found someone that I could really grow with on the show.”

With regards to working with Finn Carr (Rocco), Thiebaud explained that they finally met recently. “He’s very, very sweet, and hopefully we get to work together,” she enthused, exclaiming, “That’s going to be exciting, for sure.”
