Rempe had a memorable rookie season to say the least.
The 21-year-old arrived to New York in February and he really made his presence known immediately.
Almost every night it seemed, Rempe was picking fights with anybody he could find and the Ranger fans were loving it.
His offensive play wasn’t what impressed the fans, but his toughness that he brought to the is what everyone fell in love with.
For Rempe, this season was a dream come true.
When Rempe is on the ice at Madison Square Garden, cheers of “REMPE, REMPE, REMPE,” are heard and the crowd erupts whenever he fights or delivers a bone-crushing hit.
Rempe loves every second of it and he has really embraced his role.
“The fans are by far the best here, like unbelievable,” Rempe said. “I don’t want to let them down. I love them so much. I want to go out there and make them proud and go out there and do something every shift. How can you not have energy when they are chanting that.”
The sky's the limit for how popular Rempe could get in New York if the Rangers remain a top-tier team and he continues to show his unique personality on the ice.
