The Toronto Marlies, the AHL affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs, have added to their roster with the signing of four players Tuesday. Defenceman Matt Anderson and forwards Jacob Frasca, Mathieu Gosselin, and Marko Sikic have each inked one-year AHL contracts, adding depth throughout the lineup in Toronto. 

Anderson, 25, split time between the Toledo Walleye in the ECHL and the Marlies in 2023-24, appearing in three games for Toronto where he tallied three assists. With the Walleye, the left-handed defenseman scored 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points in 68 regular season games. In the postseason in Toledo, the Shakopee, Minnesota native scored three goals and tacked on an additional six assists for nine points through 14 games played. At a stature of six foot, 194 pounds, Anderson spent five seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth (NCHC) scoring three goals and 25 assists in 181 games – winning back-to-back national championships (2018, 2019).

Frasca, a 21-year-old hailing from Brampton, Ontario, concluded the past season with the Soo Greyhounds in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), scoring nine goals and adding 12 assists collecting 21 points in 28 regular season games. In 11 postseason games, which saw the team exit in the second round, Frasca had three goals and eight assists – scoring at a point-per-game pace with 11 points. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound forward also spent time with the Barrie Colts in 2023-24, the team he was with since 2019. In his time with the Colts, he accumulated 106 points in 144 games. Frasca has previous ties with the Toronto organization, more recently attending the Leafs’ development camp in 2023 and the 2023 Prospect Tournament.

One of two previous Newfoundland Growlers added Tuesday, Gosselin, a 25-year-old from Quebec City, boasts a commendable collegiate career at Clarkson University (NCAA), tallying 117 points over 160 games (five seasons) and served as the club’s captain in the 2023-24 season. Previously spending time in the BCHL with the Merritt Centennials, he put together 93 points (33 goals, 60 assists) in two seasons. The 5-foot-10, 168-pound right winger was also a member of the Growlers (ECHL), appearing in six games – scoring two goals and three assists.

Sikic, the Marlies’ final addition, is a 21-year-old from Kitchener, Ontario who spent his OHL career split between the Guelph Storm for two seasons and the Sarnia Sting for three seasons. Combined, Sikic amassed 147 points while scoring 47 goals and 100 assists through his 252 games of experience. Coming off a year full of career highs, Sikic had personal bests in assists (39) and points (57) with the Sting in 2023-24. Standing at 6-foot-3, 183 pounds, Sikic appeared in four games in the ECHL – three with the Newfoundland Growlers and one with the Norfolk Admirals. With the Growlers, he scored a goal and added two assists.
