Why Was Brit Not at the RHOA Reunion? The Real Reason She Missed Filming & Where She Stands With Kenya Now

Brit on The Real Housewives of Atlanta

The Real Housewives of Atlanta has finished one its most dramatic seasons in recent years, but when it came to the Season 16 reunion, one important face was missing: Brit Eady.

Brit, one of four new Housewives on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 along with Kelli Ferrell, Angela Oakley, and Shamea Morton, has been at the center of the drama this season after her feud with former cast member Kenya Moore. The drama came early on in the season when Kenya showed an alleged sexually explicit photo of Brit at an opening event for Kenya’s salon, Kenya Moore Hair Spa. The incident—which came after Brit seemingly threatened Kenya with a “pistol”—led to Kenya’s firing from the show after more than a decade.

And while fans hoped Kenya would show up to the Season 16 reunion, she confirmed on X before the taping that she wasn’t invited. “I’m disappointed to not be a part of the #RHOA 16 reunion taping today,” she wrote. “Please know I take full accountability for my actions and deeply apologize to all those affected including Brittney, the cast, crew, guests and viewers. I look forward to seeing you all back on Bravo soon.” An even bigger surprise came when news broke that Brit also wasn’t at the reunion.

Why was Brit not at The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 reunion?

In an Instagram story posted the same day the Season 16 reunion filmed, Brit explained that she didn’t attend the taping due to how Bravo handled her drama with former Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Kenya Moore. Kenya, who had been a cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta since Season 5, was fired from early into Season 16 after she showed an alleged photo of Brit performing oral sex at an event.

In her Instagram Story, Brit claimed Bravo never showed her the photo and made her—and viewers—believe that the picture was of her. It wasn’t until she saw the photo recently that she learned that the photo was not of her but of someone else. “The events of this season have devastated me, and while I cannot say much right now, I do want to set the record straight about one thing: the graphic sexual photo surrounding the events in Episode 5. That photo was not me,” Brit wrote on her Instagram Story.

She continued, As the episode makes clear, I did not see the photo at the time,” she continued. “Rather, I was made aware of the photo being presented at the event, and based on what l was told, assumed that it was somehow a photo of me – which is why I reacted in the way that I did.”

“Defendants Brit ended her post by confirming she didn’t know the subject of the photo. “I do not know who was in that photo, but upon seeing it for the first time recently, I now know it was not me,” she wrote. “I look forward to seeking accountability and moving past this dark part of my life.”

After her statement, news broke that Brit had filed a $20 million lawsuit against Bravo, NBC and The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s production companies, True Original and Endemol Shine North America, for sexual harassment and defamation. She alleged defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, false light and sexual harassment and hostile work environment. In the filing, Brit claimed that she didn’t see the “explicit photograph until a year after these events were aired on Bravo nearly a year later.”

“Defendants willfully, intentionally, recklessly, and/or with gross negligence produced, edited, and aired an episode of RHOA on April 6, 2025 that included footage of certain of the cast member’s statements at issue as well as commentary from other cast members that described the photographs displayed,” the filing stated.

The filing continued, “Further, the manner in which the episode was aired falsely yet unmistakably implied that the graphic sexual photograph presented by the cast member depicted [Eady],” it continued. She alleges, “On information and belief, Defendants knew that the photograph did not depict [Eady], or, at the least, were reckless or grossly negligent in failing to learn that the photograph did not depict [Eady].”

She also claimed the Bravo “refused” to show her the photo when she attempted to see it before the episode aired. “By the way of foregoing, Defendants contributed to the hostile work environment for [Eady] and sexually harassed Plaintiff by subjecting [Eady] to unwelcome, offensive, and sexualized behavior and comments based on her gender by requiring her to continue working in an environment in which she had been subject to a gendered attack, creating an inferior condition or privilege of employment because of her gender,” the filing stated.

The filing concluded by requesting “the immediate removal of the episode from public access on all platforms, networks, and media outlets in the Defendants’ control,” along with a public statement acknowledging the episode shared a false depiction of Eady and a monetary reward that included the legal fees.” If the defendants “fail to appear,” Brit also asked that a judgement be issued for “the sum of not less than $20 million, with interest, and the costs and fees of this action.”
