Wild Must Sign Prospect by June 1st or They Lose His Rights

The NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs are still going on but June 1st marks the first deadline this off-season for teams to sign specific players. The Wild have one player on the list.

Servac Petrovsky was drafted by the Wild in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL draft and has been playing in the Ontario Hockey League for the last three years.

Petrovsky, 19, recorded 20 goals and 55 points in 57 games last year for the Owen Sound Attack of the OHL. He also notched five goals and nine points in five games for Team Slovakia at the World Juniors this year.

The 5-foot-11 center has recorded 72 goals, 92 assists, and 164 points in 184 career games in the OHL with the Owen Sound Attack.

Minnesota has until 5:00 p.m. ET to sign Petrovsky or they lose their rights to the young center. As of now, all signs point to the Wild not signing him.

"At least twice a month, they came to see me," Petrovsky told Patrik Mitas in an interview. "They communicated with me. Unfortunately, in Minnesota, there's a situation now where they can't sign me."
