Will Anybody Hire Peter Laviolette Anymore?

There are four NHL teams on the lookout for head coaches and four ex-Rangers bench bosses available for hire.

Pittsburgh, Seattle, Chicago and Boston each could use someone who can guide them out of the non-playoff morass.

Peter Laviolette, John Tortorella, David Quinn and Gerard Gallant are there for the asking.

Adam Foote was just gobbled up by Vancouver after Rick Tocchet took off to coach Philadelphia.

It's possible that Boston will retain Joe Sacco who ended the season with

the "Interim" label doing him no favors and the same holds in Chicago with Anders Sorensen.

Also in the "Undecided" realm is Patrick Roy on Long Island where ownership still is chasing after a general manager.

Laviolette sped out of The Big Apple with nary a farewell speech nor a prayer. Pitt won't take him but Seattle – running out of choices – just might.

Torts still has another year of $ from his Flyers deal so you have to figure that he'll spend the next season doing tv work and counting his moolah.

The Penguins are such a mess, I daresay that Sidney Crosby as player-coach would be better than any schlub that the over-his-head GM Kyle Dubas might hire.

Anyone for Phil Housley?
