The official sportsbook sponsor of SinBin.vegas since the inception of the site, William Hill, has released their odds for the season and unsurprisingly, the Golden Knights are expected to have another big year.
To win the Stanley Cup
VGK +850 (4th)
The back-to-back champs, Florida Panthers, check in at the top of the list at +650. The back-to-back Western Conference champs, Edmonton Oilers, are a bit behind in 3rd at +825. Somehow, Carolina snuck up the board into the 2nd slot at +800. VGK are ahead of Colorado (+900), Dallas (+1100), Tampa (+1300), LA (+1600), and maybe the newest rival, Toronto (+2000).
To win the Western Conference
VGK +480 (3rd)
Somehow, the Golden Knights check in behind Colorado (+450) to win the West despite being ahead of them to win the Cup. The numbers are extremely tight though as all three of Vegas, Edmonton (+425), and Colorado are between +400 and +500. The surprise team in the mix is Utah (+800), they come in above LA (+800) and Winnipeg (+1000). There’s a sharp drop after the top seven too, Minnesota is in 8th at (+2200).
To win the Pacific Division
VGK +170 (2nd)
Last year, the Golden Knights were +300 to win the Pacific Division at this time and ended up going nearly wire-to-wire, including locking it up with multiple games to go. This year, they once again check in behind Edmonton (+170). Maybe the most improved team in the division, Anaheim (+5000), are not getting love from the oddsmakers for their offseason changes.
To make the playoffs
Yes -1100
No +700
-1100 is a massive number before the puck has even been dropped. VGK were just -390 to begin last season and even coming off winning the Cup they were only -700. This number has Vegas at about a 92% chance to make the playoffs.
Regular season points
Over/Under 105.5
The Golden Knights posted 110 points en route to winning the division, the second-highest total they’ve ever amassed following the Cup-winning season. VGK have reached 100 three times in their six full 82-game regular seasons. They have never done it in consecutive years, though. Bruce Cassidy, however, has reached at least 106 in five of his last six full seasons.
Presidents’ Trophy
VGK +650 (3rd)
Of all the accolades the Golden Knights have racked up in their first eight seasons, they’ve never claimed the Presidents’ Trophy for the best record in the regular season. It took 116 (Winnipeg) points last year and 114 (New York Rangers) the year before. Typically, the number is closer to 120, though, so it’ll have to be by far the best regular season in Vegas history to get it done.
