Kai’s working on his physical therapy when Stella drops by. He needs a favor from her and asks her to get him released today. She says she can’t if the doctor won’t sign off on it, but Kai claims he’s been working really hard. She asks why he wants out so badly. He explains he wants to be there to support Trina when she performs at the Nurses Ball.
Stella returns later with bad news. Kai’s doctor won’t release him, given the type of surgery he had. He asks if not today, is there still time to be discharged before the Nurses Ball? She tells him anything is possible.
At the Nurses Ball rehearsal space, Trina asks Joss where she’s been and why she’s been so busy. Joss tells her that she got a job as Dalton’s assistant. Trina is thrilled but soon realizes that’s the job Emma wanted. Joss says she applied on a whim and just thought Emma was a shoo-in. Joss notes Emma isn’t happy with her. Trina is happy for her and says Emma will come around, and it’s not like she stole the job.
Joss wants to set up party plans after the ball, but Trina says as soon as the ball is over, she’s splitting. She needs to be there for Kai, as they both know what it’s like to have their life ripped away from them.
Willow Gets Bad News
Nina drops by Drew and Willow’s place and hopes it’s okay that she stopped by. Willow says it will depend on whether she can accept her and Drew. Nina tells Willow she trusts her judgement, so if she believes Drew, then so does she. Willow thanks her mom, as her support means everything.
Later, a man stops by and serves Willow with papers. She opens them and gasps that Michael is moving forward with the divorce and wants full custody of the kids.
Ezra Causes a Scene
At the Metro Court, Ezra fumes at Drew about Laura, and then asks what Drew did with Jacinda. He’s never known her to up and leave town, and assumes Drew paid her off. Drew didn’t and says he still believes he was drugged. He asks Ezra if he is so buddy-buddy with Jacinda, has she been hanging out with anyone new lately? Ezra says Willow’s mother, Nina, did approach them the other day.
Nearby, Laura has breakfast with Lucky and Lulu. Lulu asks Lucky if he and Liz are back together or what. Lucky says things are great, and he likes staying with her and caring for her. Laura loves that Liz has him to look after her, and is just so happy both of her kids are doing well with their lives and jobs. She asks Lulu how her article is going. Lulu explains she put it on hold because of Rocco’s alcohol poisoning.
Lucky heads out to get back to Liz, and Laura asks Lulu why she really put off her article. Lulu admits writing the piece might hurt some of the people she loves. As they discuss it, Ezra slithers over and gets into a tiff with Laura, who tells him to get lost. He wonders if she will sic Sonny on him.
Lulu tells Ezra that he can’t talk to her mom like that, and maybe she has found her next piece. Ezra says a hit piece written by Laura’s daughter won’t mean anything. Ezra makes snide remarks about Rocco’s drinking, which will look bad to Laura’s constituents, and he suggests she drop out of the race right now. As he doubles down on attacking Rocco, Laura throws her water in his face, and Lulu laughs.
Liz Has a Memory
Ric stops by Liz’s place to check on her. Liz notices his new Porche on the street and can’t believe he bought a new sports car after their crash. Liz flashes back to the accident and remembers Ric mentioning the brakes weren’t working.
Ric claims that he couldn’t stop and slow down because of the black ice, and the best thing to do is to put this horrible accident behind them. The car was taken by the insurance company, and it’s all in the past.
Later, Lucky returns home to Liz. She tells him Ric stopped by earlier, and she remembered that before the crash, she told Ric to slow down, and he remembered hitting black ice. Lucky asks if she or Ric remembers anything else. She says Ric said the car was gone, the insurance company took it, and that they should move on. Lucky takes note that Ric claimed the insurance company took his old car.
Drew Hires Ric
Drew arrives home, looks over the papers Willow was sent, and wonders what is wrong with Michael. Willow has no idea what to do, given that Martin is out of town. Drew says they need a lawyer, and he knows who to call.
Ric arrives at Drew and Willow’s and learns the details of the case. Drew thinks Michael moving forward, has Carly’s fingerprints all over it. Ric is onboard to help them and believes they can win. He will contact Martin for his notes, and Willow and Nina mention that Martin was trying to find dirt on Michael. Ric will get on that, but they must file for a postponement.
Drew says they don’t need that, as he knows how to win the case. Drew says Michael chose to leave the country for his treatment, and he has not reached out to his kids once through his mother, so Michael has been MIA. He says they have to paint Michael as an absentee father who has abandoned his kids.
Kristina Slips Up
Dante and Kristina meet at Lulu’s new place. Kristina wastes no time venting to Dante that her mother almost tried to have her committed due to what she’s been going through this past year. She admits she had a hard year, and it would have been different if he, Michael, or Molly had come to her to talk about doing something to work on getting better. However, her mom blindsided her, and she doesn’t know if she can forgive or trust her mother again.
Dante knows Alexis loves her, and Kristina knows that, too. Dante admits he and Sonny were in a similar situation for a long time, but they got past it, and she came to. Kristina notes that one good thing came from this: Molly had her back, and they are closer than ever. Dante says she has him, too, but can’t help but think something else is bothering her.
Kristina admits Ric’s accident has been on her mind, and she’s so glad nobody was hurt. The passenger side of the car was completely totaled. Dante heard about it from a cop on the scene and then asked how she knew what Ric’s car looked like.
Alexis Hires Spinelli
Spinelli arrives at Alexis’ office. The lawyer has a job for him, and she needs his discretion. Alexis explains that what she needs him to do could save Kristina’s life. She needs him to find Ric’s totaled car, as nobody knows where it is. Spinelli asks what she wants with Ric’s car if it was declared an accident. Alexis would prefer not to say.
Spinelli gets to work locating the car and says the lot claims the car has been destroyed. Alexis believes the lot was paid off to lie, so she needs him to find out if any tow trucks picked it up. He eventually finds the smoking gun, and Ava hired a tow truck to pick it up.
Carly Made a Mess
At Carly’s place, she and Jason catch up, when Diane stops by to talk, as there is a disaster on their hands of Carly’s making. Diane sits down and reminds Carly that she asked her to petition the court for a divorce date. Carly explains to Jason that Michael hasn’t been told, as she wanted him to focus on healing and getting stronger. Diane says he has two weeks to heal, as the court date has been set for June 2nd.
Carly didn’t expect it to happen this soon. Jason says this was not her choice to make, it was Michael’s. Carly was only thinking of Michael’s best interests, and she has to get those kids out of Drew’s house. She asks Diane how they can fix this.
Diane can file with a postponement saying Michael had a medical setback, but Drew and Willow would use that against them and Michael’s case, claiming he’s unfit to take care of the kids. Jason thinks this has opened the door for Willow to get full custody of the kids.
Carly says they need to keep the court date. Diane will contact Michael to find out what he wants to do. Carly tells her no, and that she’ll fight for Wiley and Amelia on Michael’s behalf. Jason asks how? Diane says they can use Drew’s bad press lately to argue that Michael’s children are in danger living in that house. Carly says that they have to get those kids out of that house. Diane says the evidence may strip Willow of custody, but it doesn’t mean Carly will win custody, and the children could be placed with Nina. Carly is willing to take that chance.
On the next General Hospital, Brook Lynn cries to Chase that she’d give anything to meet her son. Gio holds a flower and tells Donna that he’d be honored. Dante yells at Rocco that Gio screwed up and this is on him. Cody tells Lulu, “Sorry, that’s not happening.” Lucky asks Alexis why Ric is lying. Ric asks someone where they are off to in such a hurry. Sonny says to someone, “I want to be the first person you call.”
