Wynne Evans has announced his festive-themed show has sold out, just months after he was axed from the BBC's Strictly Come Dancing live tour.
Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Wynne Evans has revealed that all tickets for his new project, a one-off live festive-themed show based in Wales, had sold out. The announcement comes just days after the opera singer vowed he’d done “nothing wrong” following controversy on the BBC programme’s live tour.
53-year-old Wynn competed on the 22nd series of Strictly Come Dancing, placing eighth with professional partner Katya Jones, 35. During the competition, the Welshman found himself in the headlines after he slid his hand around her waist, causing the dancer to push him away.
Another incident saw Katya rejecting her celebrity partner for a high five—a moment she claims was just an “inside joke”. Earlier this year, the GoCompare advert star found himself in hot water again when he left the Strictly live tour early.
The Welsh tenor exited the live shows after agreeing with the BBC to “take some time out” to prioritise his “wellbeing”. He also apologised for making an “inappropriate and unacceptable” comment, which the Mail on Sunday reported was aimed at fellow dancer, Janette Manrara.
Despite the alleged incidents, Wynne announced on Saturday (May 3) that his upcoming festive show in Cardiff had sold out. The project, called Wynne and Christmas, is billed as an “intimate evening of your favourite Christmas classics, festive spirit and plenty of laughter along the way.”
The show is set to take place on Wednesday, December 17 at Acapela Studio in Cardiff. Revealing tickets had completely sold out, he wrote: “Wynne at Christmas is officially SOLD OUT!
“Thank you so much to everyone who grabbed a ticket - I can’t wait to share this special evening with you.”
The star also teased there could be more “festive fun on the horizon” for those who didn’t manage to snag a ticket.
The announcement comes after Wynne posted on Facebook earlier this week, thanking die-hard fans for their ongoing support.
"Hi everyone. It’s me. Lush to see the sun shinning! Thank you everyone for your support I promise you I have done nothing wrong, it’s been a manipulation and totally changing the narrative of private conversations by the press,” he typed on May 1.
"I can’t tell you how the 1000’s of messages have kept me going. Love to you xxxx”

A recent source revealed that Wynne, who was spotted in Dubai last month with his girlfriend, currently has a “lot on his plate”.
“Wynne's had a lot on his plate lately this holiday couldn't come soon enough. He's keeping tight-lipped about the BBC situation, but it's clear there's a lot going on behind the scenes,” an insider revealed.
One celebrity who has stood firm behind Wynne during his troubled time is Katya. In a recent chat with The Sun’s Fabulous Magazine, she said she thought the presenter was an “incredible” person.
We spent a huge amount of time together and we had a brilliant partnership. We got on like a house on fire."
She continued to express her positive experiences: "Wynne has never made me feel uncomfortable in any way. We've had the most incredible time together, which no one can take away from us.
