The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, July 18, reveals that Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) will cheat with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) while Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) realizes a crucial portion of the security footage has been erased.
First on Friday’s Y&R episode, Audra will show up at Kyle’s sleeping car, where he’ll be wearing only a towel.
After Audra updates Kyle on Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) murder and the mystery surrounding it, he’ll do his best to settle her down.
Audra will worry about how heartbroken Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford) are going to be when they get the news.
After Audra hears a noise, she’ll get jumpy and clutch Kyle’s arm.
Audra will ultimately admit she’s scared and won’t want to leave Kyle’s room, so he’ll insist she can stay.
Once Audra confesses that she feels safe there with Kyle, she’ll wonder if that was the wrong thing to say.
As Kyle and Audra lean in close, they’ll finally connect lips and start making out.
Meanwhile, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will fume over Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) defending Cane when he could be trying to send him to prison.
After Nick stomps off, Phyllis will tell Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) that she’s just trying to give Cane the benefit of the doubt.
Since Phyllis saw the terrified look on Cane’s face and heard the fear in his voice, she’ll feel certain he’s not to blame for Damian’s death.
Once Sharon and Phyllis discuss everyone who came to Nice for the party, they’ll determine that none of them would kill Cane and frame Nick.
Phyllis and Sharon will realize that leaves the people who work for Cane.
In the office with the video monitors, Cane will show Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) the security footage from around the time Damian was killed.
Just before the murder occurred, the video will suddenly go glitchy and cut out.
Cane will admit he doesn’t know what happened, so Chance will realize the footage has been erased and will ask if there’s a backup.
After Cane says they run a backup every 24 hours, he’ll point out that it wouldn’t have run yet.
Chance will ask who else has access, so Cane will admit only Carter (Vincent Stalba) and Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) do.
Although Chance will seem suspicious that Cane got rid of the footage, Cane will maintain that he didn’t.
In the dining area, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will fill Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins Abbott (Susan Walters) in on Damian’s murder.
After Billy presents the theory of Cane going after Damian because of Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Jack will be even more appalled over Billy wanting to work with him.
Cane will pop up to proclaim his innocence and insist he was the intended target, not Damian.
Billy will start shifting blame to the Newmans, so Cane will acknowledge that he thinks Nick would do anything to protect his family and the Newmans would do anything to protect Nick.
Back with Chance, he’ll inform Nick that the security footage cut out just before the murder occurred.
Nick won’t be surprised at all and will seriously doubt that Cane sent for the cops since they still won’t be there.
Chance will wonder what else Nick expects him to do, but Nick will think Chance needs backup from the real authorities.
Nick will get fed up over all Cane’s manipulation and will suggest he could walk down the mountain himself to get the police.
As Cane, Billy, Jack and Diane appear, Nick will hint about taking control of the game and will warn Cane that he’s going to blow this whole thing wide open before somebody else gets hurt.
