Victoria and Claire are exhausted at the tack house. Claire talks about how he seemed to know all her hopes and dreams. She was excited to ride the carousel in Paris with him. Now that will never happen.

She remembers how he used to hum to her because he couldn’t remember the words to any lullabies.
He never had the chance to learn them since she was stolen.
Claire can’t help wishing he never took the trip that gave him pneumonia. Her mom is sure he would only want her to remember the good times.
They are sorry Nikki isn’t there.
Victoria told Katie and Johnny this morning.
Cole wanted to be cremated so she needs to make arrangements and figure out the memorial service.

Claire says she feels like she’s forgotten how to cry because she’s cried so much. Her mom says you don’t schedule grief.
When she lost Jordan, Claire felt nothing and worries she won’t be able to grieve her father right.
Victoria tells her to listen to heart and everything will be okay. If she can’t find the words, she can hum.

Victoria calls the funeral home to send someone over.
Claire asks what her memorial service was like. Her mom explains it was in the hospital chapel. Cole made all the arrangements so it was a small religious service. He read a poem and it gave her great comfort. She even remembers the lines.

Her daughter tells her about her dream last night. She heard the music of a merry-go-round and followed it up a hill. There was a carousel but only one horse. Cole was there and smiling. She went around and around until he was gone.
It was like he was telling her it was okay and life would go on. She wants to read the same poem he read for her at his memorial.

The lady from the funeral home comes and they go through the urn catalog.

As the ladies leaves, Nate drops by to pay his condolences.
They tell him how unexpected losing Cole was. Claire will regret running out at the last moment for the rest of her life.

Claire isn’t spiritual but she does believe in Hell for her aunt. She wishes there was a Heaven.
Nate tells her that prayer is just about letting your heart talk. He urges her to talk to her dad’s spirit.

They talk about what a shock all of this is and Nate advises them not to underestimate that. Victoria thanks him for being a friend and he exits.
She looks at the photo of Cole on the mantle and thanks God for bringing him back into her life and for letting him be a father to Claire.
She only hopes Claire can find peace.

Claire goes to the park to say goodbye to her dad. She’s never said a prayer so this shows how important he is to her.

She’s sorry she wasn’t there for him in the end. She didn’t know how to let him go and will miss him every second of the day.
Part of her knows he will watch her and it would be nice if he would visit her in her dreams again.
