Y&R Twist: Holden’s Loyalty Is Tested — Will Claire Be the One to Pay the Price?

Cane Ashby left his guests hanging at the French Riviera. He jetted off to Genoa City on The Young and the Restless, and he had to make some business deals behind their backs. During his time there, he met up with Holden, who had been hanging around and wondering when his lucky break was going to happen. But this could spell trouble for Claire.

New Month, New Opportunities

Holden (Nathan Owens) had planned to go back to Los Angeles. However, he stayed in Genoa City to keep an eye on Audra (Zuleyka Silver). She hasn’t warmed up to his good looks and charms. Instead, she’s been focused on her relationship with Nate (Sean Dominic). But now, her new interest is in Kyle (Michael Mealor).

Holden did strike up a friendship with Claire (Hayley Erin). They’ve already shared many good drinks and interesting conversations. Holden even helped Claire overcome her panic attack with some breathwork and more drinks. Since Kyle and Audra are out of town, Holden has even more time on his hands.

Why This Could Work Against Him

His luck could change. On the Tuesday, July 1 episode of Y&R, Holden met Cane (Billy Flynn) in the flesh. He was surprised to learn that Cane left his guests behind and headed back to GC. But Cane needs to set up his life there again. He also has an interest in the businesses over there.

Cane offered Holden a new opportunity. Of course, as with any new opportunity in Genoa City, it comes with strings attached. Cane wants Holden to get more information about Adam (Mark Grossman), Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Abby (Melissa Ordway), Mariah (Camryn Grimes), and Claire. This could work financially in Holden’s favor, but it won’t work for him personally.

Holden would ultimately ruin the possibility of a friendship with Claire. She’s a smart woman. She could quickly find out what Holden’s up to. He can kiss their friendship goodbye if he wants to fraternize with the enemy. In the end, this could affect Claire, especially now that she has close ties to the Newmans.
