Yankees Eye Tim Hill Reunion, but Mets Enter Heated Battle for Star Reliever!

As the reliever market continues to take shape, the Yankees remain interested in a reunion with left-hander Tim Hill and their competition could come from across town.

The Mets are also considering signing the 34-year-old who emerged as a dependable weapon in The Bronx, The Post confirmed.

The Yankees have some work to do to complete their roster — and that includes adding a lefty in the bullpen, as well as potentially an infielder and backup catcher.

Reliever Tim Hill, who was solid in the playoffs for the Bombers last season, is drawing interest from the Yankees and Mets this offseason.

Reliever Tim Hill, who was solid in the playoffs for the Bombers last season, is drawing interest from the Yankees and Mets this offseason.

They missed out on Japanese right-hander Roki Sasaki, but their rotation is solid.

Still, they’ve got some arms to replace in the pen, with Tommy Kahnle also available after a solid year ended poorly in the World Series when the right-hander imploded in the season-ending Game 5 loss to the Dodgers.

Left-handers Andrew Chafin and ex-Met Brooks Raley are on their radar, as well. Raley is coming back from Tommy John surgery and won’t be ready for the start of the season.

The Yankees added some minor league bullpen depth by acquiring right-hander Michael Arias from the Cubs in exchange for cash considerations.

The 23-year-old Arias has some of the hard-throwing traits the Yankees like and have helped refine, especially with relievers.

Arias split last season between Chicago’s Double-A and Triple-A affiliates.

He struggled badly with his control in 33 appearances at Triple-A Iowa.

He was designated for assignment by the Cubs on Sunday.

Originally signed by Toronto out of the Dominican Republic as a shortstop, Arias was converted to a pitcher by the Cubs in 2021 and while he throws hard, he’s been unable to harness his pitches.

Arias’ signing leaves the Yankees with 38 players on their 40-man roster.
