The Young and the Restless recap for Friday, May 16 sees Amanda return to Genoa City with big news—and even bigger secrets—while Phyllis unravels, Nick plays peacekeeper, and Claire shifts gears with Kyle.
What Happened on The Young and the Restless?
At Society, Devon (Bryton James) ran into Lily (Christel Khalil) and Nate (Sean Dominic). They’d all been summoned for a meeting with Dumas. But nothing prepared them for who walked in next: Amanda (Mishael Morgan). Devon’s ex represented Aristotle Dumas as his attorney and teased that she could’ve easily passed as the mysterious billionaire himself. She explained she meets with him daily and has answers to their questions.
Devon, Lily, and Nate were immediately suspicious. Amanda swore Dumas wasn’t a threat to Chancellor-Winters and admired Neil (Kristoff St. John). Still, Devon pressed her for Dumas’s real identity, assuming it was a fake name. Amanda claimed he was exactly who he says he is but dodged giving any more information.
As Devon grew increasingly skeptical, Amanda said she was sent as a friendly face. She rattled off their accomplishments and hinted that Dumas had personal motivations, particularly tied to Billy’s (Jason Thompson) downfall and admiration for Lily. That only raised more red flags for the Winters group. The trio later regrouped and speculated that this might be Amanda’s attempt at payback. Lily declared it was time to drag Dumas into the light.
A Little Help From My Friends
Meanwhile, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) spiraled. Nick (Joshua Morrow) found her alone at the GCAC and took her for a walk. She admitted to feeling unmoored after Daniel (Michael Graziadei) pulled away and Billy fired her. Nick comforted her as she confessed she felt like she was drowning.
Sharon (Sharon Case) interrupted their moment, which led to some awkwardness. Later, Sharon grilled Phyllis about her connection to Nick.
Best Laid Plans
Elsewhere, Claire (Hayle Erin) told Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) that she and Kyle (Michael Mealor) decided not to move in for now. She planned to throw a party to win Victor over. While Victoria doubted the strategy, Claire was determined to prove herself.
At Crimson Lights, Kyle and Audra (Zuleyka Silver) sparred over her new company. Holden (Nathan Owens) popped up to stir trouble and implied a love triangle, which Audra shut down hard.
Later, Kyle told Diane (Susan Walters) and Jack (Peter Bergman) he planned to figure out what Vibrante was really up to by pushing Audra’s buttons until she cracked. Claire was uneasy but agreed to trust him.
Touch Grass
In the park, Sally (Courtney Hope) made Billy touch grass—literally. After a nature-inspired reset, the two kissed. But the calm didn’t last. Nick walked by and confronted Billy over firing Phyllis, accusing him of turning on her just when she needed support. Billy claimed he was doing her a favor.
Phyllis walked by in time to hear Nick defending her. She later met up with Amanda, who demanded answers about her sudden interest in Dumas.
