Nope. Nothing that The Young and the Restless could have put on the air could have been weirder than this. As March approached its finish line, reports began to spread that Beth Maitland had passed away. Only the talk was worse than even just idle, it was malicious — and why?
The Emmy winner herself LOL’d at the BS, taking to social media to assure her fans — and we are legion, thank you very much — that “the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. Shame on people who have nothing else to do but exploit others. Get a life.”

Amen to that. The actress, who has played Traci Abbott off and on since 1982, is not only alive and well but up to her earlobes in frontburner story. Sure, it’s not the epic romance that we always want for her character — fiancé Alan has turned out to be a total psycho — but we’ve been happy nonetheless to see her portrayer basking in the spotlight.
Where things get sticky is in the area where real- and reel-life meet. Because, since Traci is set to marry a total nut job, we have every reason to fear that she will follow Alan’s twin brother to the grave. Will Jack and all of Traci’s loved ones be able to protect her, or will she fall prey to her sweetheart’s madness?
