Young & Restless Preview: Adam Will ‘Cross Lines’ To Protect His Family in the Face of Cane’s Threat

Cane is determined to get his hands on Chancellor Industries and Victor’s hellbent on keeping it for Nikki. The scene has been set for a battle… and Adam’s about to plunk himself smack dab in the middle of it.

Cane’s made his first move in attempting to secure Chancellor by sitting down with Victor to let him know it’s in his sights. Victor, unsurprisingly, quickly shut him down. His name would be mud, after all, if he sold his wife’s company out from under her.

But with Chancellor being Genoa City goals these days, this fight is far from over. When Cane starts upping the ante, the Newmans are about to discover that he doesn’t intend to take “no” for an answer.

As we saw in a sneak peek preview video, Adam will crash Cane’s party in France, seemingly climbing a literal mountain, to breathlessly give Victor news he isn’t going to like at all.

Why will he go to such lengths to sound the alarm? First of all, the news must be quite consequential. Young & Restless spoilers indicate that Adam and Chelsea will do some digging mid-week, and we expect them to uncover something significant to warrant Adam’s panicked dash from Genoa City to Nice, France.

Secondly, as Young & Restless head writer Josh Griffith pointed out during a recent chat with SOAPS, despite Adam “always living in the shadow of his siblings who are considered good to his black sheep,” he “loves his family and he will do anything to protect it.”

If we’re using the word “protect” than it stands to reason that Cane may prove to be a more formidable foe than Victor realized. As for Adam stepping up for the family in a time of crisis, Griffith teases that he will “cross lines, if needed, that are taboo to do that.”

If that’s the case, Cane may have bitten off more than he can chew… we can’t think of anyone who could take on both Adam and The Great Victor Newman and prevail!
