As the 2025-26 NHL season heats up, all eyes are on the future of the Chicago Blackhawks—especially with two of their greatest legends, Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane, closing in on major milestones. Even though they’ve taken their talents to new teams, Blackhawks fans are still heavily invested in their journey.
Patrick Kane, now playing for the Detroit Red Wings, is on the cusp of hitting his 500th career goal. With 492 goals already under his belt, his 8th goal of the 2025-26 season will officially mark this incredible achievement. But that’s not all—Kane has already accumulated 1,343 career points, and with just 57 more, he could become one of the few players to hit 1,400 points. It’s not a guarantee, but for a player of Kane’s caliber, it’s certainly within reach, even at his age.
On the other side, Jonathan Toews, who signed with the Winnipeg Jets this offseason after a two-year hiatus, has his own milestones in sight. With 372 career goals and 883 points, Toews is just 28 goals away from hitting 400 and 17 points from reaching 900. While the goals milestone may be challenging due to his time away from the game, hitting 900 points is well within his grasp, and his determination is something to never count out.
While both players are now representing different teams, their roots in Chicago are undeniable. Blackhawks fans, no matter where Kane and Toews are playing, will continue to support them. This season, when Kane and Toews face off against each other in Detroit on December 31st, fans in Chicago will be watching with pride, remembering the glory days when both legends wore the Blackhawks jersey.
"Even in different jerseys, these two Blackhawks legends are still writing the most incredible chapters of their careers. And Chicago will always be cheering them on."
