3 bold predictions on what the Philadelphia Eagles will do in the 2025 NFL Draft

It's officially draft week, which means the guessing games for what the Philadelphia Eagles will do are almost over.

Until Thursday comes, however, we're going to make four bold predictions on what the Birds might do the the 2025 NFL Draft to perfect their roster.

1. Eagles Trade Up From No. 32 Overall on Day 1

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman said days before the draft that trading up is certainly risky, though he did not rule out a possible trade up.

“For me, I think that being aggressive has always been part of my DNA, and I feel fortunate that I have people around me who support that in Nick (Sirianni) and Jeffrey (Lurie), and it allows us to take chances and to try to be aggressive,” Roseman said.

Even if it's just a few spots up, I think Roseman makes the jump up from No. 32 overall on Day 1.

2. Draft a Tight End Sooner Rather Than Later

Rumblings that the Eagles are looking to trade tight end Dallas Goedert this week are heating up.

"Sources: #Eagles TE Dallas Goedert remains a name to watch on the trade market as the draft approaches," NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported last week. "Interested teams believe Philadelphia would be open to future picks if they don’t receive 2025 draft capital. Goedert is in the final year of his deal, and he could be looking for a new contract as well."

If that's the case, then I think the Eagles target one of the best tight ends in this year's draft class on Day 1.

Depending on whether or not the Eagles sit still at No. 32 or trade up, they could land Michigan's Colston Loveland, LSU's Mason Taylor, or Miami's Elijah Arroyo.

3. Eagles Bolster Interior Pass Rush

Roseman recently put a ton of emphasis on why bolstering the interior pass rush is so important in the draft as opposed to NFL free agency.

And the Eagles could really use a boost to their pass rush, especially after losing Milton Williams during NFL free agency.

"Obviously interior pass rush is a huge deal in the National Football League," Roseman said. "Getting quick pressure on quarterbacks is a huge deal. And I think you've seen our resources shift that way a little bit here in the last few years because that's the quickest way to really get pressure. You want both. We've been fortunate to have both for a long period of time, but you gotta continue to refresh those positions and continue to build depth along both your lines.

"So I think for us, we feel like having good players in those positions, obviously, we have a bunch returning on our roster that we're excited about. But those are huge spots for us to continue to grow, and the best place to find them is in the draft. Those markets are expensive when you get into free agency."

If the Eagles don't trade up for a tight end, I can see them doing so to snag Williams' replacement.
