49ers Linked to Keenan Allen Signing For Injured Brandon Aiyuk

San Francisco 49ers star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk suffered a torn ACL and MCL last October, and could be out significant time to start the 2025 season. As a result, the team could be on the lookout for someone to take his place.

In a recent article by Bleacher Report's Moe Moton, he lists some NFL free agents who he could not believe have not been signed to a team yet. One of the players he mentions is veteran wideout Keenan Allen, and he thinks the Niners could be a potential fit.

"The San Francisco 49ers could open the season without Brandon Aiyuk, who is recovering from a torn ACL and MCL. According to general manager John Lynch, Demarcus Robinson might be subject to a three-week suspension," Moton wrote. "Allen would be a solid fit to round out three-receiver sets alongside Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall. He's also an upgrade over Robinson and would allow the 49ers to slowly ease Aiyuk back into action."

It seems as though the Chicago Bears are moving on from the 33-year-old receiver, and a team like the 49ers could take advantage.

Allen finished this past season with 744 yards and seven touchdowns, which might seem pedestrian for him. But he was only targeted by Bears young quarterback Caleb Williams 121 times, which is the second-lowest mark in the last seven years for Allen.

Younger receivers like Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings could play big roles for the Niners this season, and bringing in a veteran like Allen to help mentor them could be something for the team to consider.
